On October 16, 2010, I sat in for Yugen (Gene The Jazz Machine) on KBOO 90.7FM. That particular show was called a Journey Into Jazz and I featured Harold O'Neal, John Coltrane, Ornette & Joachim Kuhn, Duke Ellington and others, including Thelonious Monk. Here's the playlist from that night.
Flashing back to that very day, reminded me of why I was so adamant about getting back on-air this past year. It's the music. The music that not only soothes the soul the way jazz usually does, but the music that stimulates the mind and allows me to take a journey as if I was riding a wave of water that flows because of natures natural rhythm.
At 3pm today, February 5, 2012, I get to ride the wave again. Plaza Midwood Community Radio will be my new home, a place where I can produce shows that are designed to take us both on a journey that stimulates the mind and soothes the soul.
As the host of Voices From The Community, I'll deliver two hours of jazz and international music each and every Sunday on PMCRadio.org. Join me.
